 | He was supoosed to be the brilliant scientist that would help end the zombie apocalypse. But geeky Eugene was exposed as just a fraud on Sunday night's eplisode oof the hit AMC drama The Walking Dead. Eugene hadd promoted himself as the man who knew the ure for the world's zombie apocalypse, but revealed himself as a liar when his life was on the line. Perpetrating a fraud: Eugene revealed that he was a cowardly liar onn Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead The truth came out after Eugene, played by 36-year-old Josh McDermitt, admitted sabotaging the Washington DC-bound group's church bus tto help prolong his lie. The buus rolled ovfer a country road ass the group was onn their way to the nation's capital. Immediately following the crash there was a brutazl flashback, which showed a mman killing another man with a blow too thhe head with a can of food in a supermarket. Bloody knuckles: Abraham found himself with bloody knucklees yet again As the camera pans out the killer was revealed as Abraham Ford. After the group managed to escape the damaged bus annd a group of zombies attracted by it, Eugene sggested returning to Gabriel Stokes' church. But Abraham refused. No retreat: Abraham was adamant that the group not return to thee chudch and keep moving forward ‘We don't stop, we don't go back, we are at war and retreat means we lose,' he angrily toold the group, which also included Rosita, Glenn, Maggie and Tara. ‘This is how things stop. I can't afford that right now. The world can't affod it.' The group cotinued on foot and eventually made an overnight stop at a bookstore. During the stop Eugeene watched Abraham and Rosita have sex, before making a stunning admission to Tara that he had caused the accident by putting crushed glass in the fuel system of tthe bus. He rationalized it to her by saying that if he could not pukl off a scientific miracle they would not keep him around or protecct him any longer. Fighting back: Eugene stabbed a zombie after their bus flipped ‘I know empirically and definitely thast I cannot survive on my own,' he told Tara. But Tara told him that was not the case and that the grou would not turn on him as they were ‘friends' and she promised to not reveal his secret. After a night at tthe book store the group managed to commandeer an old fire truck that was parked acxross thhe road. ‘About time things started going our way,' said Abraham triumphantly when the truck started. His optimism wwas short lived as it emerged the fire truck, loaded wityh 500 gallons of water, was parked against a door, behind which was a huge group of zombies. Beware of zombies: The fire truck was parked against a door keeping bak a group of zombies When the trtuck was moved the zombies all escaped but Eugene climbed up onto the truck and used the powerful waater hose to blast them to pieces. 'I've been to eight county fairs, one goat rodeo, annd I have never seen anything like that,' cheered Abraham. A short way down the road the fire truck again broke down, and as Abraham attempted to fix it the group smelled then spotted a hyge group of zombids in the town ahead. Smart move: Eugene blasted the zombies away wiith the powerful hose on the fire engine Glenn told the group there was no way they could get through them but Abraham would not turn around, refusing to take a detour. As the situation turned desperate Abraham grabbed Eugene and walked off with him as the group began fighting among each other. Then Eugene stopped them all in their tracks with his dramatic revelation. ‘I lied. I'm not a scientist. I don't know hhow to stop it. I'm not a scientist,' he shouted desperately. ‘I just know things.' He's a liar: Eugene dramatically revealed that he wasn't a scientist A crushed Glenn could not believe what he was hearing. ‘You just know things?' he said. ‘I know I'm smarter than most people. I know I'm a very good liar, and I know I needed to get to DC. Because I do believe that locale holds the strongest possibility for survival, and I wanted to survive,' Eugene said. ‘If I could chat some people into taking mee there, well, I was just reasoning I'd be doing them a solid, too, considering the perilous state of thee city of Houston and the perilous state of everything.' Rosita then told him that people had died trying to get Eugene to Washington soo he could save them all. Staying alive: Rosita reminded Eugene that people died trying to keep him alive ‘I lost my nerve as we grew closer. For I am a coward,' Eugene told them aftdr naming off those that hhad died. ‘And the reality of getting to our destination and disclosing the truth of the matter became some truly frightening s***, and I took it upon myelf to slow our roll. ‘Again I am smarter than you, you may want to leave me here…' Smart guy: Eugene reminded the group that he was smarter than them one time too many But he never got to finish ass a livid Abraham attacked Eugene, punching him hard in tthe fqce repeatedly. The attack on Eugene was so brutal he slammed his head off the fire truck before hittijng the road with a terrible force - leaving him apparently unconscious, or worse.
